Attention parents of youth athletes, do you have questions about playing sports during the pandemic?
Listed below are three recorded video sessions hosted by the AAP, AMSSM and NATA as part of the “Play Informed Sports and Recreation Through the Pandemic: Education Sessions for Parents, Guardians and Community Leaders.”
This three-part educational event was designed to help parents, guardians and community leaders make informed decisions about sports participation during the pandemic. In conjunction with the series, educational resources were developed by the associations to help navigate a return to youth sports during the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you missed any of the live events or if you would like to re-watch or share any of the videos from the series, recordings are now available:
- Watch Session 1: Understanding the Risks and Benefits of Sports Participation during the Pandemic
- Watch Session 2: Safety Precautions for You and Your Team
- Watch Session 3: Navigating Sports During COVID-19 for Elite Athletes
Recommendations and best practices for safely engaging in sports during the pandemic are rapidly changing. We encourage parents and guardians to talk to their local pediatrician, sports medicine physician and athletic trainer in order to make informed decisions on sports participation during this time.
