El Segundo, CA (August 29, 2014) – As announced last night during halftime of the Chaminade at Venice high school football game, Time Warner Cable Community has launched the second season of its popular “TWC Fan’s Choice” contest to let fans help select which Friday night high school football games will air on the network. High school football fans can now visit www.twccommunity.com and select their favorite matchup for the first week of the contest, Friday, September 12, to help put their school’s cross-town rivalry game on TV throughout Southern California. The selected games will also be streamed live on www.twccommunity.com.
Eight “TWC Fan’s Choice” selections, four from the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) LA City section and four from the San Diego section, will be added to Time Warner Cable Community’s existing CIF football schedule, giving the network a total of 18 games this fall. The first week’s (airing Friday, Sept. 12) “TWC Fan’s Choice” voting selections include Mater Dei at Francis Parker, Carlsbad at Santa Fe Christian and Otay Ranch at Mt. Miguel.
Fans will have the opportunity to vote for one of three games each week, with the voting deadline the preceding Friday at 12:00 p.m.. Starting with next Friday night’s Honor Bowl matchup of Oceanside vs. Mission Viejo live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet at 8:00 p.m., the first “TWC Fan’s Choice” winner and the following week’s voting selections will be announced live during halftime. The matchup with the most votes will be televised on TWC Community on Friday night at midnight and again the following Saturday at 10:00 a.m., as well as streamed live online. The winners of the final two “TWC Fan’s Choice” contests of the season will be televised live on TWC Community. Viewers can vote at www.twccommunity.com as many times as they’d like.
Last year was the first year of the “TWC Fan’s Choice” contest and thousands of fans voted for their favorite teams throughout the season.
