Over the next six weeks, high school football in the CIF LA City Section will be brimming with excitement as school communities come together to renew decade-old rivalries while the fans enjoy "Friday Night Lights."
Last Friday night's atmosphere at Sylmar High was electric as the Spartans hosted their neighborhood foe, San Fernando. Though Sylmar won convincingly 63-7 over the Tigers, the overflowing crowd of enthusiasts enjoyed the pomp and circumstance from the opening kickoff to the final horn.
From the players competing on the gridiron, to the cheerleaders, to the bands, to the exuberant fans, it reminded us how special high school football can be when two school communities come together and support their teams.
Enjoy this video which shares a brief glimpse into this fabulous rivalry between two passionate fan bases. The opening kickoff will be coming straight into your living room so prop up your chair and take in the game highlights and pageantry. The sunset prior to kickoff wasn't too shabby either!
