Showing plenty of resiliency and determination, El Camino Real bounced back from a 2-1 deficit to overtake Granada Hills, 3-2, in a five-set thriller 25-22, 15-25, 20-25, 25-19, 15-13. The Conquistadors played with plenty of poise and resolve to defeat the Highlanders for the first time since 2011. Add to the fact that it came on the home court of Granada Hills made the victory that much more impressive.
Two weeks prior, ECR lost a five-set heartbreaker at Carson. Using that match as a valuable learning experience, the Conquistadors willed their way to a huge victory that sent soundwaves across the Division I landscape as well as the West Valley League.
