Time Warner Cable today announced that on May 20th, SoCal 101 will be renamed TWC Community and the channel will feature an updated on-air look that will align with the redesigned on-air presentation of Time Warner Cable sports and news networks across the country. The redesign also unifies Time Warner Cable’s lifestyle channels under a common brand – TWC Community.

Boys Volleyball playoff seedings are released. Granada Hills, Eagle Rock and Rancho Dominguez earn top seeds in Divisions 1, 2 and 3, respectively.

Janelle Romero from South Gate High School and Vikash Singh from University High School are the recipients of the 2014 CIF Farmers' Scholar-Athlete Award. They represent the female and male recipients from the Los Angeles City Section.

Oscar Hernandez (Manual Arts High School) and Elenoa Taulaki (John H. Francis Polytechnic High School) have been selected to receive the State CIF Spirit of Sport Award from the Los Angeles City Section. The Spirit of Sport Award recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate the 16 principles of Pursuing Victory with Honor, being active with school and community service, and exhibit of leadership qualities. Congratulations to Oscar and Elenoa!
