New Transfer Rule Fact of the Week: The "Sit Out Period" (SOP) will be extended if the student transfers to the new school after the first game of the sport at the new school.

The updated 2012-13 CIF transfer eligibility policy documents for parents and schools are posted. This includes some "frequently asked questions" (FAQ's) regarding the "Sit Out Period." You can also visit the State CIF website at www.cifstate.org for additional information.

In a memo distributed to high school principals and members of the Interscholastic Athletic Committee, results of a data comparison recently made between LAUSD students who participate in athletics and those who do not, showed that participation in athletics leads to grade point averages, standardized test scores and attendance rates that are significantly higher than the average of the rest of the Student Body.
