I.A.C. Rule 1508 states: "Attendance at the pre-season coaches' meeting is mandatory for at least one representative from the paid coaching staff of each school. If the school is not represented at the meeting by a paid coach, athletic director or assistant principal, the head coach of that sport will be restricted from coaching in the first practice contest of the season, not including tournaments. Attendance at the meeting constitutes being present at the beginning of the meeting, and staying until its completion."
